Alamo Regional Academy of Science and Engineering Fair

The Alamo Regional Academy of Science and Engineering Fair was held on Saturday, March 8, 2008.  ARASE President (and local section Project SEED committee chair and local section High School Chemistry Exam committee chair), Robert Fanick, presented two senior awards (Chemistry and Biochemistry) and one junior Chemistry award on behalf of the local ACS section.  Awards are to be presented at the Annual ACS Awards Banquet.  Several ACS section members volunteered as judges (Mr. Larry Grona, Dr. Terry Smith, Dr. Daniel Nichols, and Dr. Miroslav Synek); and our ACS section is recognized as a contributor at the ARASE website.

Longtime ACS member Dr. Miroslav Synek also received an award at the Science Fair awards ceremony on Sunday.  He was honored for his service to the Alamo Regional Academy of Science and Engineering.

The High School Chemistry Exam is scheduled for April 5, 2008 at San Antonio
College.  Our Chair Robert Fanick is in need of volunteers to help. 
The Chemistry Olympiad will be April 19, 2008...volunteers would be appreciated. Please contact the Chair, Robert Fanick.
